I guess it&#039;s just the intestinal output of newspapers when the role of a columnist in a publication is to be provocative and attention-getting rather than thoughtful, well researched and informative. (Very similar to my impression of talkback radio in many ways, but I don&#039;t read or listen much to either.)

Such opinion pieces in newspapers are about as pointless as blog postings by people who write about their chocolate couscous cooking experiences. :-P It&#039;s a shame they get pushed so much by the media publishers these days.  A more cost effective way to sell advertising and keep the publication a-float than well researched journalism, I suppose.</description>
